What makes Real Estate Consultants different from traditional 6% Brokers?
Real Estate Consultants was founded on the premise that a $1,000,000.00 house may not cost that much more to market than a $100,000.00 house. Most traditional 6% Brokers charge $60,000.00 for one and $6,000.00 for the other. We do not feel that a straight 6% commission is fair to Sellers. We offer several marketing programs and give our Sellers the flexibility to choose a marketing program which best suits their individual needs. One plan that we have developed is an equitable 2% marketing plan which offers Sellers thousands and in many cases, tens of thousands of dollars in savings when they list their home with us. All of our marketing programs are designed to save our Sellers a significant amount of money, while still offering the full marketing services of the traditional 6% real estate company.

We offer comparable or better marketing services than traditional 6% brokers. The major difference is that we charge less. I like the idea of saving money. Is there a catch?
Absolutely not! A lot of people think that because our fees are so reasonable that there must be hidden fees or surprises. We have no additional fees and we do not earn our commission until your home closes.
Do I have to show my own home?
The choice is yours. Some Sellers feel that they know their home better than anyone else and enjoy meeting the prospective Buyers. Other Sellers prefer that we show their home. We have full time agents working everyday at our offices who are ready on short notice to show your home to prospective Buyers if you prefer. Regardless of who shows your house, when the Buyer wants to purchase your home, we handle everything to assure a smooth transaction.
Is Real Estate Consultants a member of the Multiple Listing Service?
In fact, we are members of seven (7) different Multiple Listing Services throughout the state. We offer you the option of placing your home in MLS systems for lower commission. Just like traditional 6% Brokers, we share the commission with the cooperating MLS agent. Therefore, they have the same incentive to sell your home as all other homes listed in the MLS. It is important that the cooperating agents earn the same selling commission they are accustomed to receiving; consequently, Real Estate Consultants accepts a reduced portion of the total commission.
